Pet coke imports through the port of Mundra stood at a mere 159 tons in January 2016, a sharp increase against 60 tons in December 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW. However, imports in January 2016 are the highest volume of imports in the current fiscal.
In January 2015, the imports were at 10,000 tons.
For the first 10 months (April-January) of FY2015-16, imports of pet coke through Mundra Port stood at a mere 359 tons while imports of the same stood at 234,941 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.

In December 2015, the entire consignment came from China at a unit price range of Rs 42,441-Rs 43,335 ($636-$645) per ton.
