Steam coal imports through the port of Dahej increased by 25.88% month-on-month to 769,397 tons in January 2016 from 611,205 tons in December 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
The same stood at 338,922 tons in January 2015.
For the first 10 months (April-January) of 2015-16, steam coal imports through the port stood at 9,723,507 tons against 614,936 tons seen for the same period of last fiscal, though for seven months there were no data available.

In January 2016, a volume of 382,851 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,136 to Rs 3,982 ($32- $58) per ton, 73,780 tons from Russia at a unit price of Rs 3,330 ($49) per ton, 65,997 tons from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,239-Rs 4,646 ($63-$69) per ton. Details on 246,769 tons were not available.
In December 2015, a volume of 15,363 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 3,328 to Rs 4,242 ($49- $63) per ton. Details of 595,842 tons were not available.
