January gypsum imports via Vizag drop 27.98% m-o-m

February 25: Gypsum imports through the port of Vizag dropped 27.98% to 96,101 tons in January 2014 against 133,437 tons reported in December, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

In January 2014, 55,545 tons arrive from Oman in a price range of Rs 1,640 - Rs 9,799 ($26-$156) per ton, 40,350 tons arrived from Thailand in a price range of Rs 1,683 - Rs 1,680 ($27), 130 tons came from Saudi Arabia in a range of Rs 5,575 - Rs 10,311 ($90-$166) per tons, 36 tons came from the UAE at Rs 9,448 ($152) per ton and 40 tons arrived from other areas at a unit price of Rs 10,797 ($174).

In December, 38,052 tons arrived from Iran in a price band of Rs 1,544 - Rs 4,658 ($25-$74) per ton, 55,078 tons arrived from Oman in a price band of Rs 1,826 - Rs 9,705 ($26-$156) per ton, 40,225 tons arrived from Thailand in a range of Rs 1,778 - Rs 5,409 ($28-$86) per ton and 82 tons arrived from Saudi Arabia at a unit price of Rs 10,307 ($165).
