Jharkhand to add capacity to Tenughat thermal power

Jharkhand is planning to add two 660-megawatt (MW) units to its much-talked- about Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Limited (TVNL). Preliminary studies regarding this would be carried out soon, a highly placed source in the state energy department told ICMW.
TVNL-controlled Tenughat thermal power station is located at Maithon in Bokaro district with an installed capacity of 420 MW (2x210 MW).
The project was initially sanctioned for 3 stages of 1,550 MW (2x210MW + 3X210MW+ 1X500MW).
