Joint HEC-BEML manufacturing on the cards

February 24: Ranchi-based HEC Limited is planning to take up joint manufacturing of some mining equipment with BEML and also tie-ups with some foreign companies, sources informed ICMW.

Detailing the plans, sources said that HEC is envisaging taking up joint manufacturing of 20- cubic meter rope shovels in association with BEML.

Besides, the company may go for tie-ups with foreign companies for manufacturing dozers, loaders, hydraulic excavators and continuous miners.

The company is also revising its capacity for taking up manufacturing of shaft winders and planning to take up turnkey projects for coal handling and coal washing, they added.

HEC is in a position to supply 150 numbers of 5-cubic meter electric shovels and 20 units of electric rope shovels and 4 units of 24-cubic meter draglines in the next 5 years, as per its capacity, the sources added.
