July anthracite coal imports via Paradip sharply up 78.37%

August 28: A total of 6,600 tons of anthracite coal were imported via Paradip port in July 2013 against 3,700 tons in June, up 78.37%, as per information available with ICMW.
With this, during the first four months of FY’14, total anthracite coal imports via the port stood at 116,073 tons while the figure stood at 27,643 tons during the corresponding period of last year.
Total anthracite coal imports via the port were at 124,441 tons in the entire financial year of 2012-13.

In July, the entire consignment arrived from Vietnam at Rs 18,014 ($302) per ton.
In June 2013, however, the entire material came in from Ukraine at a price of Rs 9,819 ($173) per ton.
