July steam coal imports via Kolkata drop 9.52% m-o-m

August 4: Steam coal import levels through the port of Kolkata declined by 9.52% to 5,700 ton in July 2014 against 6,300 tons reported in June, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In July 2013, the imports were at 328,994 tons.
Steam coal imports through the port in the first four months of the current fiscal were at 18,300 tons against a volume of 1,269,926 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Total imports of the material for the entire financial year of 2013-14 were at 1,735,675 tons.

In July, imports comprised two consignments from South Africa in a range of Rs 5,308 – Rs 6,363 ($87-105) per ton.
In June, a single consignment arrived from South Africa at a unit price of Rs 5,987 ($100).
