June anthracite coal imports via Kolkata Port surge m-o-m

July 11: Anthracite coal imports through the port of Kolkata surged manifold in June 2014 to 8,523 tons against a mere 2,805 tons in May, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In June 2013, a volume of 5,273 tons had been imported.
Imports for the first three months of the current fiscal were at 49,877 tons against a volume of 25,000 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Total anthracite coal imports from Kolkata stood at 160,858 tons for the entire financial year of 2013-14.

In June, imports included 7,700 tons from Russia in a price band of Rs 8,026 – Rs 8,161 ($133-135) per ton, 288 tons from China in a range of 24,965 – Rs 26,597 ($417-440) per ton and 536 tons from Ukraine at a unit price of Rs 11,230 ($187).
In May, 1,080 tons arrived from China in a band of Rs 21,080 – 31,059 ($351-$420) per ton while 1,725 tons came in from Ukraine in a range of Rs 7,891- Rs 12,280 ($131-202) per ton.
