June steam coal imports via Kolkata flat at 6,300 tons m-o-m

July 11: Steam coal import levels through the port of Kolkata remained flat at 6,300 tons in June, having registered the same volume in May, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In June 2013, the imports were at 416,647 tons.
Steam coal imports through the port in the first three months of the current fiscal were at 12,600 tons against a volume of 940,932 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Total imports of the material for the entire financial year of 2013-14 were at 1,735,675 tons.

In June, a single consignment arrived from South Africa at a unit price of Rs 5,987 ($100).
