June steam coal imports via New Mangalore double m-o-m

August 7: Non-coking coal imports through New Mangalore Port during June 2014 more than doubled to 380,838 tons from 164,368 tons recorded in May, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In June 2013, non-coking coal imports via the port stood at 498,883 tons.
Total imports of non-coking coal through New Mangalore Port in April-June, 2014-15 stood at 418,205 tons against 1,491,615 tons recorded in the same period of the previous financial year.
Following is the monthly break-up of non-coking coal imports via New Mangalore Port in 2014-15 and 2013-14 (in tons):

In June 2014, the entire material came in from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,109-Rs 5,847 ($69-$97) per ton.
On the other hand, during May 2014, the entire material came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 4,075-Rs 6,364 ($68-$106) per ton.
