KOMIPO of Korea invites bids for bituminous coal

South Korean state-owned utility Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) issued an new tender for 390,000 Metric Tons (MT) of minimum 4,600 kcal/kg NAR coal and minimum 5300 kcal/kg NAR coal for November 2015 loading for Boryeong Power Plant.
The total 390k Mt of 4600 kcal/kg NAR coal is required to be loaded in four shipments on Fixed Price FOBT, in November by 2 Panamax and 2 Cape size vessels.
According to Komipo’s tender terms, the bidders are requested to propose 70,000×2 minimum 4,600kcal/kg NAR coal and 125,000×2 minimum 5,300kcal/kg NAR coal for November 2015 loading.
KOMIPO requires the suppliers to offer coal with the quality such as total moisture (as received basis) max. 28%, volatile matter (air dried basis) min 22 and max 45%, fixed carbon (air dried basis) max 60%, total sulfur(as received basis) max 1.0% and Ash (air dried basis) max 17% for minimum 4,600 kcal/kg coal on NAR basis. While requirement for minimum 5,300 kcal/kg coal on NAR basis, the total moisture (as received basis) should not more than 15%, volatile matter (air dried basis) min 22 and max 38%, fixed carbon (air dried basis) max 60%, total sulfur(as received basis) max 1.0% and Ash (air dried basis) max 20%.
