KPCL’s Oct coal imports at 112,000 tons

November 19: The import of steam coal by Karnataka Power Corporation limited (KPCL), during the month of October 2013 stood at 112,000 tons whereas during the previous month, imports stood at nil, according to provisional data of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) available with ICMW.
In October 2012, KPCL’s coal imports stood at 140,000 ton.
During the first seven months (April-October) of 2013-14, coal imports by KPCL stood at 643,000 tons while the same stood higher at 864,000 tons during the corresponding period of 2012-13, data revealed.
The utility’s imports during the first seven months, however, were 73.48% of the target of 875,000 tons for the period set by CEA.
