KPCL sees no steam coal imports in January

March 2: There were no imports of steam coal by Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd (KPCL) during January 2015 while the target for the month had stood at 142,000 tons, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd (KPCL) imported 49,000 tons of coal in December 2014, which fell short of the month’s target of 142,000 tons.
Imports of steam coal by Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL), during January 2014 stood at 181,000 tons.
The power generator’s coal imports during the first 10 months of 2014-15 stood at 860,000 tons, down 14% compared to provisional imports of 1,000,000 tons during the corresponding period of 2013-14.
