KPCL set to open bids for 1.5-mt imported coal tender

September 16: After a delay of more than a month, Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd (KPCL) is set to open the bids for 1.5 million tons imported coal tender soon, a trade source said.

“The opening of the tender was delayed due to wide fluctuations in the Indian currency,” the source added.

The opening is likely to create a positive environment as the trading community had been extremely disappointed in recent months not only because of lack of orders, but also due to the sharp depreciation in the Indian rupee against the US dollar.
