Steam coal imports through Kakinada Port stood at 216,201 tons in March 2016, up 44.0% from 121,673 tons in February 2016, according to provisional data available with ICMW. There were no imports in December 2015.
Total steam coal imports through Kakinada Port for financial year 2015-16 (April-March) stood at 1,277,685 tons, showing a drop of around 45% over 2,331,579 tons seen for 2014-15, though no data was available for six months in the previous fiscal.

In February 2016, a volume of 73,523 tons of steam coal came from Indonesia at a unit price of Rs 3,570 ($52). Further details of the remaining 48,150 tons were not available.
