Kandla Port’s 2015-16 coal handling increases 50.51%

Handling of coal (imports of coking and non-coking) by Kandla Port stood at 15,000,820 tons during financial year 2015-16, showing a rise of 50.51% from 9,966,494 tons handled in 2014-15, as per provisional data from port sources available with ICMW.
On the other hand, Kandla Port handled 1,207,157 tons of coal cargo in March 2016, registering fall of 3.96% over 1,256,868 tons handled in February 2016.
However, handling of coal by the port in March 2015 stood at 1,007,934 tons, which shows that handling was up 19.77% y-o-y.
