Kandla Port’s gypsum imports drop 51% in Nov m-o-m

December 15: Gypsum imported through Kandla Port stood at 16,000 tons in November 2015, down 51.51% on a month-on-month basis compared to 33,000 tons in October 2015.
There were no imports of the material in the preceding two months (August-September), according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In November 2014, imports of gypsum via Kandla Port stood at 35,500 tons.
Imports of gypsum through the port during the first eight months (April-November) of FY15-16 stood at 162,499 tons against 316,979 tons imported during the same period last year.

In November 2015, the entire consignment came from Oman at Rs 1,188 ($18) per ton.
In October 2015, a volume of 17,000 tons came from Iran at Rs 1,069 ($16) per ton and the remaining 16,000 tons from Oman whose pricing details were not available.
