Kandla Port’s imported coal stock at 1.46 mt

January 01: Kandla port on the western coast of India has a stock of 1.46 million tons (mt) of imported coal as on December 31, 2013, according to information provided to ICMW by an official of the port.

In the first nine months (April-November) of 2013-14, a total of 5.34 mt imported coal arrived through the port, out of which the volume of steam coal was 5.14 mt and that of coking coal was 1.99 mt, the official added.

The highest quantity of 1.05 mt of both coking (65,693 tons) and non-coking (989,121 tons) was imported through the port in August, whereas the lowest quantity of 393,829 tons of coal was imported in April (of which 319,522 tons was non-coking coal).
