Kandla ports Apr-Dec coal handling up 40%

Coal handling by Kandla Port on the western coast of India rose nearly 40% to 11,040,690 tons between April and December 2015 as compared to 7,910,805 tons handled during the same period of 2014, provisional data of the port revealed.
Of the total handling in Apr-Dec of 2015, the handling of coking coal stood at 110,676 tons and that of steam coal stood 10,930,014 tons.
