Kolkata Feb met coke imports edge up 4% m-o-m

March 18: Met coke imports through the port of Kolkata edged up 3.68% to 68,709 tons in February 2015 against 66,271 tons in January 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Met coke imports in February 2014 were at 64,714 tons.
Imports of the material for the first 11 months of the current fiscal of 2014-15 were thus at 512,944 tons against 459,219 tons recorded for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total met coke imports via Kolkata Port stood at 510,327 tons for the full financial year of 2013.

In February 2015, 19,980 tons arrived from Australia at a unit price of Rs 12,500 ($199) per ton, 41,229 tons came in from China in a price range of Rs 11,446 – Rs 12,348 ($183-197) per ton while the balance 7,500 tons came in from Russia in a price range of Rs 13,561 – Rs 13,637 ($216-217) per ton.
In January 2015, imports consisted of 43,008 tons from China in a range of Rs 11,280 – Rs 13,220 ($177-207) per ton and 23,263 tons from Australia in a range of Rs 12,400 – Rs 14,064 ($199-220) per ton.
