Kolkata Port Dec pet coke imports plunge m-o-m

January 16: Pet coke imports via Kolkata Port plunged to a mere 122 tons in December 2014 against a volume of 5,204 tons in November, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of the material in December 2013 were also low, at 620 tons.
Imports of the material for the first nine months of the current fiscal were at 124,188 tons against 39,826 tons reported for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total pet coke imports via Kolkata Port for the entire financial year of 2013-14 stood at 50,149 tons.
Following is the break-up of month-wise import of pet coke via Kolkata Port in 2013-14 and 2014-15:

In December, the entire material came in from China in a band of Rs 24,319 – Rs 50,581 ($381-809) per ton.
In November, 5,000 tons arrived from the US in a price band of Rs 7,566 – Rs 7,651 ($122) per ton and 204 tons from China in a band of Rs 50,015- Rs 50,581 ($799-808) per ton).
