Kolkata Port Feb gypsum imports up 70% m-o-m

March 18: Import volumes of gypsum via Kolkata Port rose by 69.81% to 990 tons in February 2015 against 583 tons seen in January 2015, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
In February 2014, volumes were at a mere 3 tons.
Imports for the first 11 months of the current fiscal were at 5,627 tons against a volume of 4,400 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.

In February 2015, imports comprised 145 tons from China in a band of Rs 10,697 – Rs 17,847 per ton ($171-284) per ton, 435 tons from Iran in a price band of Rs 6,315 – Rs 6,478 ($101-103) per ton, amongst others.
In January 2015, imports comprised 378 tons from China in a band of Rs 5,608 – Rs 5,813 per ton ($88-91) per ton, 123 tons from Saudi Arabia in a price band of Rs 7139 – Rs 8,381 ($115-135) per ton, amongst others.
