Kolkata Port Oct pet coke imports down 16% m-o-m

November 26: Pet coke imports via Kolkata Port dropped 15.84% to 13,000 tons in October 2014 against a volume of 15,447 tons in September, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of the material in October 2013 were at 18,000 tons.
Imports of the material for the first seven months of the current fiscal were at 118,862 tons against 38,898 tons reported for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total pet coke imports via Kolkata Port for the entire financial year of 2013-14 stood at 50,149 tons.
Following is the break-up of month-wise import of pet coke via Kolkata Port in 2013-14 and 2014-15:

In October, 10,500 tons came in from China in a band of Rs 9,910 – Rs 42,473 ($160-684) per ton, while the balance 2,500 tons arrived from the US at a unit price of Rs 7,584 ($122).
In September, all the consignments arrived from China in a price band of Rs 9,649 – Rs 51,037 ($156-833) per ton.
