Kolkata Port gypsum imports nosedive in Mar

April 27: Import volumes of gypsum via Kolkata Port nosedived by more than 248% to 284 tons in March 2015 against 990 tons seen in February, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
In March 2014, volumes were at 160 tons.
With the March figures, imports for fiscal 2014-15 were at 5,912 tons against a volume of 4,560 tons in the previous fiscal.

In March 2015, imports comprised 122 tons from China in a band of Rs 17,647 – Rs 27,390 per ton ($283-435) per ton, while the balance 162 tons came from Iran at a unit price of Rs 5,405 ($86).
In February 2015, imports comprised 145 tons from China in a band of Rs 10,697 – Rs 17,847 per ton ($171-284) per ton, 435 tons from Iran in a price band of Rs 6,315 – Rs 6,478 ($101-103) per ton, amongst others.
