Kolkata met coke imports up 76% m-o-m in Jan

February 25: Pet coke imports via Kolkata Port surged to 24,192 tons in January 2015 against a mere 122 tons in December 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of the material in January 2014 were also low, at 255 tons.
Imports of the material for the first 10 months of the current fiscal were at 148,380 tons against 40,081 tons reported for the same period in the previous fiscal.
Total pet coke imports via Kolkata Port for the entire financial year of 2013-14 stood at 50,149 tons.

In January 2015, 14,500 tons arrived from the US in a price band of Rs 7,804 – Rs 10,601 ($122-166) per ton and 9,692 tons from China in a band of Rs 10,011- Rs 51,550 ($161-808) per ton.
In December, the entire material came in from China in a band of Rs 24,319 – Rs 50,581 ($381-809) per ton.
