Kolkata’s Dec anthracite imports nosedive m-o-m

Anthracite coal imports through the port of Kolkata in December 2015 nosedived to a mere 40 tons against November’s 15,020 tons, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
In December 2014, a volume of 21,431 tons had been imported.
With the December figures, total imports of the material in the first nine months of the current fiscal of 2015-16 dropped 20.37% year-on-year to 119,051 tons compared to 149,518 tons seen in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Anthracite imports, through this port, in general, have shown an erratic trends this fiscal so far.
Imports for fiscal 2014-15 were at 160,627 tons.

In December 2015, a volume of 20 tons came in from China at a unit price of Rs 20,237 ($301) and the balance 20 tons from Vietnam at a unit price of Rs 38,657 ($575).
In November 2015, a volume of 15,000 tons came in from Russia at a price range of Rs 5,356 – 5,394 ($80-81) per ton and the balance 20 tons from Vietnam at a unit price of Rs 37,564.
