Kolkata’s Feb anthracite imports dwindle m-o-m

March 18: Anthracite coal imports through the port of Kolkata plunged further to 201 tons in February 2015 against 668 tons in January 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In February 2014, a volume of 13,627 tons had been imported.
Imports for the first 11 months of the current fiscal were at 150,387 tons against a volume of 137,859 tons in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Total anthracite coal imports from Kolkata stood at 160,858 tons for the entire financial year of 2013-14.

In February 2015, the material came in from China at a price band of Rs 20,765 – 25,198 ($333-403) per ton.
In January, 648 tons came in from China at a price band of Rs 22,038 – 27,128 ($345-425) per ton while the balance 20 tons arrived from Vietnam at a unit price of Rs 38,842 ($609).
