Kolkata’s pet coke imports surge in March m-o-m

April 27: Pet coke imports via Kolkata Port surged to 12,976 tons in March 2015 against a paltry 3,653 tons in March 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of the material in March 2014 were also low, at 10,000 tons.
With the March figures, imports of the material for fiscal 2014-15 were at 165,009 tons against 50,149 tons reported in the previous fiscal.
Following is the break-up of month-wise import of pet coke via Kolkata Port in 2013-14 and 2014-15:

In March 2015, a volume of 12,500 tons arrived from the US at a unit price of Rs 7,612 ($121) and the balance 476 tons from China in a band of Rs 42,814- Rs 52,011 ($756-828) per ton.
In February 2015, however, a volume of 2,500 tons arrived from the US at a price of Rs 7,570 ($121) per ton and 1,153 tons from China in a band of Rs 10,011- Rs 51,721 ($161-824) per ton.
