Korea Midland Power issued a tender 250K mt bituminous coal

South Korean state-owned utility Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) issued an new tender for 250K Metric Tons (MT) of 5300 kcal/kg NAR coal for August 20 – October 15 loading for Boryeong Power Plant.
The total 250,000 Mt of 5300 NAR coal is required to be shipped in two shipments on Fixed Price FOBT, within 20 August to 15 October 2015 by 2 cape vessels.
According to Komipo’s tender terms, the bidders are requested to propose 2 shipment. The first 125000 MT of coal is required to be shipped at the port of loading within 20 August – 14 September 2015 and the second 125K MT of 5300 NAR coal is required to be shipped at the port of loading within 25 September to 15 October 2015.
KOMIPO requires the suppliers to offer coal with the quality such as Total Moisture (As received basis) Max. 15%, Volatile Matter (Air dried basis) Min 24 Max 45%, Fixed Carbon (Air dried basis) Max 60%, Total Sulfur(As received basis) Max 1.0% and Ash (Air dried basis) Max 23% for minimum 5300 kcal/kg coal on NAR basis.
According to the tender document, the bidders are requested to offer with quotation in a single fixed price up to feasible amount of coal in lots of 125,000MT(+/-10%).
Russian and Chinese coal are not allowed for this tender.
