Imports of anthracite coal via Krishnapatnam Port rose a sharp 151.97% to 37,795 tons in January 2016 against a volume of 15,000 tons imported in December 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
For the first ten months (April- January) of the current fiscal (2015-16), anthracite coal imports through the port stood at 230,475 tons while 48,090 tons had been imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In January, the entire volume of 37,795 tons came in from Russia at a price of Rs 5,250 ($77) per ton.
In December, the entire volume of 15,000 tons came in from Russia at a price of Rs 5,440 ($82) per ton.
