Imports of petroleum coke via Krishnapatnam Port were sharply up 112.45% month-on-month to 228,392 tons in January 2016 against a volume of 107,502 tons in December 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
For the first 10 months (April-January) of the current fiscal (2015-16), pet coke imports through Krishnapatnam Port stood at 1,249,050 tons while imports of the commodity through the port in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15) were at 471,539 tons.

In January, a volume of 75,302 tons came from Saudi Arabia at a price range of Rs 2,784- 3,475 ($41-$51) per ton and 1,53,090 tons from the US at a price range of Rs 3,816 -Rs 4,891 ($56-$72) per ton.
In December, a volume of 18,000 tons came from Saudi Arabia at a price range of Rs 3,352-Rs 3,462 ($50-$52) per ton, 5,000 tons from South Africa at a price of Rs 3,465 ($52) per ton, 28,250 tons came from the US at a price range of Rs 4,770-Rs 6,977 ($71-$104) per ton while details of 56,252 tons were not available.
