Krishnapatnam’s FY16 PCI imports spurt by 179%

Imports of PCI coal via Krishnapatnam Port were up 178.71% at 289,730 tons in fiscal 2015-16 against a volume of 103,953 tons recorded in 2014-15, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

On the other hand, as in November and December, 2015 and January and February, 2016, there were no imports of PCI coal via Krishnapatnam Port in March 2016 either.

Incidentally, after a month’s gap, imports of PCI coal via this port had resumed with 117,186 tons in October 2015.

The following table gives details of PCI coal imports through Krishnapatnam Port in 2015-16 and 2014-15:
 

In October 2015, the entire quantity of 117,186 had been imported from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,189-Rs 5,631 ($78-$86) per ton.
