December 9: Imports of coking coal via Krishnapatnam Port edged down 1.83% to 405,327 tons in November 2015 against a volume of 412,868 tons imported in October 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
For the first eight months (April-November) of the current fiscal (2015-16), coking coal imports through the port stood at 3,024,376 tons while 570,289 tons were imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In November, a volume of 107,126 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,576-Rs 6,368 ($83-$97) per ton, 175,680 tons from Canada at Rs 5,621-Rs 6,206 ($85-$94) per ton while details of 122,521 tons were not available.
In October, however, a volume of 223,366 tons came in from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,481-Rs 10,011 ($83-$149) per ton and 189,502 tons from Canada at Rs 5,769-Rs 6,443 ($87-$99) per ton.
