The power index turned red on Thursday on global cues. The index remained choppy and directionless for the last couple of days.
The S&P BSE Power index decreased 8.04 points (0.47%) to close at 1,710.89 on March 10 from the previous closing of 1,718.93. The highs and lows on March 10 were 1,727.51 and 1,704.68 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, FTSE closed up 1-2% on Thursday from the previous closes. The Sensex also remained in red.
The Sensex decreased 170.62 points (0.69%) to close at 24,623.34.
On March 10, most of the stocks on the S&P BSE Power closed in the red. The maximum gain was registered by Torrent Power, with the stock increasing 5.62% to close at Rs 241.65. The maximum loss was registered by GMR Infra, which decreased 2.47% to close at Rs 11.87.
