New UserLand, EC issues make Rs 20-cr projects non-starters at CIL

July 24: Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Power, Coal & New and Renewable Energy (Independent Charge) said in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on July 24 that a total of 20 coal projects, costing Rs 20 crore and above, could not be started due to constraints relating to land acquisition and environmental clearances at Coal India Limited and its subsidiary companies.
Most of these projects fall in the states of Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
