Limestone, gold mines auction to fetch additional Rs 5,000 cr to C’garh

The auction of limestone and gold mines in Chhattisgarh would fetch Rs 5,000 crore additional income besides the royalty, said Chhattisgarh Commerce and Industry Minister Amar Agrawal while addressing a meeting of mines Minister of different states in Rajasthan. Representing Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, he also elaborated on different mining activities and proposed projects in Chhattisgarh.
The meeting was presided over by Union Steel and Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar. The Union Minister praised the efforts of Chhattisgarh government in view of new provisions introduced by central government in mining act. Chhattisgarh Mining Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh and Reena Babasaheb Kangale, Director, Directorate of Geology and Mining in state, also attended the crucial meeting. Minister Amar Agrawal said that Chhattisgarh has successfully auctioned limestone and gold mines. He said that Chhattisgarh government has also constituted ‘District Minerals Institute Trust’ in each of the districts and received Rs 350 crores from different institutions. An action plan for development works to be carried out in districts has also been prepared.
