August 29: The bids and offers for South African coal from a leading brokerage firm remained largely unchanged on August 21 compared to August 21, indicating little change in market sentiment over the period.

On August 21, Marex Spectron, had made a bid of one 50,000 tons of cargo of RB1 material at a discount of $1.10 over index for loading in October, but offered a price of -$0.95.
The broker had no bids for loading in each of the months of the fourth quarter of 2013, but had made offer at a discount of $0.50 on August 21 for loading of 50,000 tons of cargo in each months of the quarter.
For the first quarter (January-March) of 2014, the broker's bid was a discount of $1.35 while the offer was at a discount $1.00 for loading of 50,000 tons of cargo in each months of the quarter.
For entire 2014, for loading of one cargo of 50,000 tons per ton, there was no bid from the broker, but the offer remained unchanged at a discount of $0.50 to index.
