Looking to expand cement biz; Lafarge on radar: Sajjan Jindal

JSW Cement, a company led by Sajjan Jindal, is in talks to acquire Lafarge's India business. He says the company is looking at various opportunities to acquire cement assets and Lafarge is one of them.

"We are looking to expand our cement business and we are looking to consolidate this industry. But we are a very small player as of today. Lafarge is also on our radar and we are looking at acquiring the Lafarge assets as one of the possibilities. There are many other such options before us," he told CNBC-TV18. News reports suggest Lafarge is looking to get out of its entire 11 million tonne (mt) capacity in India.
