29 Sep 2015
The coal-dedicated Gaohe rail line -- linking Gaohe Mine and Taiyuan-Jiaozuo railway -- officially opened on September 21, blazing a new channel for Lu’an Group in delivering coal to other areas in China, the group said on its website.
Gaohe Mine was operated by Shanxi Gaohe Energy Co. (SGEC), which was jointly invested by coal giant Lu’an Group and Asian American Gas. Inc.
The 11,537-km rail line is a major project of coal-outbound rail network planned by Lu’an Group, with total investment at 625.5 million yuan ($102.2 million).
The railway gained approval from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on August 2005, and started construction on June 2013, with designed transport capacity at 6 million tonnes per annum.
The completion of this rail line will further expand the coal sales of Lu’an Group, and enhance the rail transport capacity of Zhenzhou city, said Chen Jie, a senior official of Zhenzhou Railway Administration.
