April 10: Maharashtra State Power Generation Co Ltd’s (MAHAGENCO’s) steam coal imports during 2014-15 stood at 2,316,000 tons, down 10.33% from 2,583,000 tons recorded in 2013-14, according to provisional data of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) available with ICMW.
However, during March 2015, coal imports stood at 176,000 tons while in the previous month, the figure stood at 144,000 tons, showing a rise of 22.22%, data revealed.
In March 2014, MAHAGENCO’s coal imports stood at 312,000 tons.
