November 6: The Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd, popularly known as MAHANGECO, has said its power generation during the first seven months (April-October) of 2014-15 rose 17.39% despite adverse conditions.
Total generation during the period stood at 22,908 million units (MU) as compared to 19,513 MU generated during the corresponding period of 2013-14.
The increase in generation was possible despite limited availability of coal, the company said in a release.
“MAHAGENCO has achieved the additional generation although the stocks (coal) at its disposal are sufficient just for a day or two. We are making all-out efforts to generate a maximum amount of power with the resources available,” the release said.
