MAHAGENCO’s Nov coal imports at 200,000 tons

December 17: Maharashtra State Power Generation Co Ltd’s (popularly known as MAHAGENCO) coal receipts during November 2014 stood at 200,000 tons while coal imports by the utility in the previous month stood at only 11,000 tons, according to provisional data from CEA available with ICMW.

However, during November 2013, coal imports by MAHAGENCO stood at 294,000 tons, data revealed.

Total receipts of imported coal by MAHAGENCO during the first eight months of 2014-15 stood at 1,469,000 tons, up 3.67% compared to 1,417,000 tons received during the corresponding period of 2013-14, the data revealed.

The utility has been given a target to import 3,500,000 tons of steam coal in 2014-15.
