MCL aims to come up with four washeries by FY18

Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL), which has low quality coal deposits, expects to complete its four new coal washery projects by 2017-18, according to company sources.
MCL recently laid the foundation stone for its 10-million tons per annum (mtpa) Jharsuguda coal washery in Ib Valley. The foundation stone was laid by Coal Secretary Anil Swarup in Lakhanpur area in the presence of top MCL officials.
The Jharsuguda washery project, which is estimated to be built at a cost of Rs 396 crore by October 2017, is one of the four 10-mtpa projects, of which two will come up in Ib Valley coalfields and two in the Talcher coalfields.
All the four projects are expected come up in the financial year 2017-18, the sources said.
