MCL crosses 100-mt output milestone in record days

Coal major Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has crossed the 100 million tons (mt) of coal production milestone in a record 281 days during current financial year (2015-16).

“Working hours on January 6, 2016, ended with MCL registering 100.03 mt coal production. The company, on December 28, 2015, had crossed 100 mt of despatches of coal to its various consumers, primarily power producers across the country,” a company statement said.

MCL, which had produced 121 mt of coal during last financial year (2014-15), has consolidated all efforts to achieve the 150-mt coal production target in the current fiscal, it said.
