MCL to increase departmental production in FY15

June 26: Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) has undertaken measures to increase the share of departmental production in its total coal production in 2014-15, company CMD A N Sahay told ICMW.

“In coal production, the departmental share is quite low, about 30 percent, as it is mostly outsourced,” Sahay said.

“But now we are taking steps to change that scenario. We have started growing the departmental sourcing from last year. Departmental production growth was 142 percent this year. Last year also the growth was quite high,” he added.

In OB removal, Sahay said, the share of departmental and contractual work is around 50:50.
