Madanpur North block de-allocated, further action on hold

April 4: The Inter-Ministerial Group (IMG), at its review meeting held about a month back, has decided to de-allocate the Madanpur North coal block awarded to the joint allocates,  saying they shall not be eligible for allocation of a coal block in lieu of the de-allocated block, according to a coal ministry release.

However, the release further said that further action has been put on hold in view of the interim order of the Delhi High Court in the writ petition (C) No. 1128 of 2014 filed by Madanpur Coal Company Private Limited & Others, as pronounced on February 17, 2014.

The joint allocatees are Ultratech Ltd, Singhal Enterprises, Navbharat Coalfields, Vandana Energy & Steel, Prakash Industries, Anjani Steel, Sunflag Iron & Steel and a consortium of Ispat Godavari, Vandana Global, Ind-Agro Syndergy, Shri Bajrang Power & Ispat and Shri Nakoda Ispat.
