Magdalla Feb steam coal imports dip 6% m-o-m

Imports of steam coal via Magdalla Port edged down 6.23% in February 2016 to 320,805 tons from 342,109 tons imported in January 2016, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

For the first 11 months (April- February) of the current fiscal (2015-16), steam coal imports through the port stood at 4,564,776 tons while 5,258,300 tons had been imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In February 2016, a volume of 70,000 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,184 - Rs 5,351 ($75-$78) per ton, a volume of 233,136 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,050 -Rs 4,474 ($30-$65) per ton and 17,669 tons from other places while the price range for some were not available.

In January 2016, a volume of 98,099 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 4,950 - Rs 5,155 ($73-$77) per ton, a volume of 1,06,212 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,175 -Rs 3,160 ($32-$47) per ton and 1,37,798 tons from other places while the price range for some were not available.
