Imports of steam coal via Magdalla Port edged down 1.35% in December 2015 to 365,987 tons from 371,000 tons in November 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
For the first nine months (April-December) of the current fiscal (2015-16), non-coking coal imports via Magdalla Port stood at 3,901,862 tons while 4,314,840 tons had been imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In December 2015, a volume of 100,000 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,155- Rs 5,283 ($77-$79) per ton, a volume of 2,730 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,980-Rs 3,767 ($45-$56) per ton and 263,257 tons from other places while the price range for some were not available.
In November 2015, a volume of 99,998 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,357- Rs 5,524 ($80-$85) per ton, 12,000 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,674-Rs 3,611 ($40-$54) per ton and 259,002 tons from other places.
