December 9: Imports of steam coal via Magdalla Port edged down 3.44% in November 2015 to 371,000 tons from 384,215 tons imported in October 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
For the first eight months (April-November) of the current fiscal (2015-16), non-coking coal imports via Magdalla Port stood at 3,535,875 tons while 3,821,024 tons had been imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In November 2015, a volume of 99,998 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,357- Rs 5,524 ($80-$85) per ton, a volume of 12,000 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,674-rs 3,611 ($40-$54) per ton and 259,002 tons from other places as well whose price range was not available.
In October 2015, a volume of 65,099 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,322- Rs 5,524 ($79-$85) per ton and a volume of 319,116 tons from other places whose price range was not available.
