November 11: Imports of steam coal via Magdalla Port were down 22.38% in October 2015 to 384,215 tons from 470,215 tons imported in September 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
For the first seven months (April-October) of the current fiscal (2015-16), non-coking coal imports via Magdalla Port stood at 3,164,875 tons while 3,309,000 tons were imported in the same period of the previous fis,cal (2014-15).

In October 2015, a volume of 65,099 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,322- Rs 5,524 ($79-$85) per ton and a volume of 319,116 tons from other places whose price range was not available.
In September 2015, a volume of 87,600 tons came from Australia at a price range of Rs 5,322- Rs 5,570 ($79-$83) per ton, a volume of 7,370 tons came from South Africa at a price of Rs 6,335 ($95) per ton and 375,245 tons from other places as well whose price range was not available.
